Laguna Clay WC603 45 Buff fires to a warm, light buff colour. Its slightly coarse texture makes it a versatile clay for wheel throwing and handbuilding.

Laguna Clay WC603 45 Buff is a stoneware clay body that develops a soft, sandy buff colour after firing. Its understated tone draws attention to the proportions and contours of finished pieces.

WC603 is particularly well suited to wheel throwing. A slightly coarse texture from medium grog gives the clay a noticeable feel while keeping it easy to shape. It works well for everyday mugs, bowls and plates, as well as larger bowls, vases and decorative forms. It can also be used for handbuilding.

The light buff fired clay body offers a range of glazing possibilities. Transparent and translucent glazes can reveal its natural colour, while opaque glazes create a contrasting finish. Combining glazed and unglazed areas on the same piece is another way to make the clay’s warm colour part of the design.

The firing range is 1000–1240°C. Bisque firing can be carried out at approximately 1000°C, with a final firing around 1220°C, depending on the glaze. At 1220°C, total shrinkage is 11.5% and water absorption is 3%.
