AMACO V-381 Amethyst underglaze is a deep grape color that is vivid at 1050°C, darkens at 1200°C, and becomes a deep violet that begins to fade slightly at 1300°C. A clear glaze deepens the color of the underglaze significantly at any temperature.

A clear glaze deepens the color of the underglaze significantly at any temperature. To ensure full coverage, apply 2-3 coats of the underglaze on leather-hard or bisque-fired clay. The AMACO Velet Underglazes are highly pigmented and will give saturated colors in a wide firing range.
