Mayco SW-187 Himalayan Salt glaze when fired at 1240°C gives a glossy surface with pink-orange flecks. As the firing temperature increases, the color turns gray and orange-violet flashes appear. The glazes from the Mayco Stoneware series are designed for firing in the temperature range of 1200-1300°C, in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres. Stir them well before use and apply on bisque in layers with a brush. The final appearance of the glaze will depend on the clay body used, the number of layers and the firing curve.
