When Cacao Gloss is applied thinly, the surface is more rust-brown; a heavier application develops deeper brown and tan shades. Relief and other surface variations make the contrast between thin and thick areas more visible. The finish remains glossy.
Amaco Shino glazes are inspired by the humble earthiness of tea ceremony bowls. In oxidation firings, they produce a rich, high-iron surface reminiscent of reduction-fired glazes. They enhance both textured and smooth clay surfaces and are suitable for white and red clay bodies.
The Gloss and Matte versions can be blended to create intermediate levels of sheen. The glazes can also be layered with Amaco Potter's Choice glazes to produce more dynamic, complex surfaces.
