Mayco SW-303 Manganese Wash

Mayco SW-303 Manganese Wash produces a warm metallic finish which breaks into bronze over texture. Applying Manganese Wash on a ceramic glaze will increase its "flow" and add a brown effect. The degree of the glaze mobility will depend on its properties (the effect for "floating" glazes will be multiplied, while stable glazes will move only slightly) and on how many layers of each product have been applied. Be cautious, when combining Manganese Wash with other glazes, and apply the product only to the upper 2/3 of your work. Applying Manganese Wash under transparent glaze may reduce the color intensity.

Mayco Washes are a highly concentrated metallic glaze colorants, which are formulated for ease of use and versatility. Based on metal oxides, they are primarily used for silkscreen printing and rubbing into the surface of the ceramic body to accentuate the texture. They can also be used in combination with any glaze in the temperature range of 1000-1300°C.
