G&S 1100 is a very light, chamotte-free stoneware clay body that remains white when fired at high temperatures, almost like porcelain. Our experience shows that glazes from the AMACO Celadon series fired on G&S 1100 clay at cone 5 tend to craze significantly, making the pieces non-functional. When decorating pieces made from this clay with glazes from the AMACO Potter's Choice and Mayco Stoneware series, we did not observe any changes in the properties of the glazes.
