Its thin, sharp blade allows precise trimming of foot rings, lid galleries, and other small or intricate areas that larger tools can't reach. Ideal for carving sharp lines and fine details, this tool is an essential addition to any ceramicist’s toolkit. Built from three high-quality components – a hand-turned beech wood handle, brushed aluminum cap, and a tungsten carbide blade – this tool is designed for performance and durability. Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest metals, far more wear-resistant than steel, and it retains its edge for extended use without the need for frequent sharpening.
Care Instructions: Please note that tungsten carbide is brittle and may break if dropped. Always handle with care, avoid knocking it against hard surfaces, and store it securely to prevent rolling off the table. Do not soak in water; rinse briefly and dry immediately after use. To maintain optimal trimming performance, if needed, lightly sharpen the inner edge using a fine (400 grit or higher) diamond file. The outer edge is beveled and does not require sharpening.
