Wide oval Soft Edge pottery form for shaping clay slabs into plates, small platters, trays and serving dishes with a broad, gently rounded rim profile.

Wide Oval MDF Soft Edge Pottery Form helps you quickly and easily repeat an elegant, elongated shape in ceramic pieces made from slabs. The wide oval shape is especially useful for making plates, small platters, trays and serving dishes with a soft, modern rim line. Simply prepare an evenly rolled clay slab, place it on the form and gently press it to fit the surface.

The shaped piece should be left on the form until the clay becomes leather-hard and firm enough to hold its shape. Removing the piece too early may increase the risk of deformation, so it is best to wait until the clay has stiffened properly. The forms available in our shop are made from high-quality MDF board. To keep them in good condition for as long as possible, clean them after use with a damp cloth, avoid excess water and dry them upright.
