Mayco SW-199 Purple Aster glaze produces a lavender color with blue spots when fired at 1240°C. As the temperature increases in the reduction firing, the shade of the glaze changes to dusty pink. Glazes from the Mayco Stoneware series are designed for firing in a temperature range of 1200-1300°C, in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres. Stir them well before use and apply on bisque in layers with a brush. The final appearance of the glaze will depend on the clay body used, the number of layers and the firing curve.
