Mayco SW-128 Cordovan glaze develops a deep, burgundy red color with a semi-gloss surface when fired to cone 5 or 6. In reduction firing, as the temperature increases, the glaze color changes to brick-red with dark metallic mottling. The glazes from the Mayco Stoneware series are designed for firing in the temperature range of 1200-1300°C, in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres. Stir them well before use and apply on bisque in layers with a brush. The final appearance of the glaze will depend on the clay body used, the number of layers and the firing curve.
