Mayco SW-104 Black Walnut high-fire glaze creates a satin, dark brown surface with lighter discolorations where it breaks over texture. As the temperature increases, during reduction firing, the glaze becomes shiny and its shade becomes slightly lighter. The glazes from the Mayco Stoneware series are designed for firing in the temperature range of 1200-1300°C, in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres. Stir them well before use and apply on bisque in layers with a brush. The final appearance of the glaze will depend on the clay body used, the number of layers and the firing curve.
