Mayco Ritual Glaze Sample Kit: 6 high-fire special-effect glazes, including Melt Gloop and Beads, for raised textures, drips and colorful ceramic surfaces.
Mayco Ritual Glaze is a collection of high-fire special-effect stoneware glazes. The range includes glazes that create distinctive, expressive surfaces - from raised dots and drips to bead-like textures. They allow decoration through both color and texture.
Mayco Ritual Glaze 2026 Sample Kit is an ideal introduction to Melt Gloop and Beads, allowing you to test their possibilities on your own clay body. It contains six 118 ml colors - three glazes from each range - making it easy to explore application methods, surface effects and color combinations before purchasing larger sizes.
Melt Gloop - special-effect stoneware glazes for creating raised textures and flowing patterns on ceramics, fired at 1200 - 1300°C. Apply to greenware or bisque. For more movement and a dripping effect, apply larger dots of glaze to vertical surfaces. Keep shaking the applicator during use to eliminate air bubbles that can disrupt glaze flow and cause uneven application or splattering. Allow the glaze to dry. Fire the piece as soon as possible to help prevent glaze adhesion issues. Unlike Beads, Melt Gloop is designed primarily for dots, drips and flowing effects.
Beads - special-effect stoneware glazes fired at 1200 - 1280°C, producing a dimensional beaded texture in a range of bead sizes. Apply in layers, allowing each coat to dry slightly and lose its glossy sheen before adding the next. Alternate the direction of application - apply one coat vertically and the next horizontally. For best results, apply 3 - 5 coats; the number of coats affects the size of the beads. Beads can also be applied over other glazes, but their raised texture may flatten, leaving smooth and colorful effects. Due to their uneven surface, they are not recommended for dinnerware, but they can be used successfully on the exterior of functional ware. Unlike Melt Gloop, Beads create a scattered, beaded surface rather than dots and drips.
