Amaco SH-45 Matcha Gloss Stoneware Glaze

Amaco Shino Matcha Gloss creates a glossy surface of green and brown tones, with the balance between shades shaped by the thickness of the glaze layer.

Matcha Gloss produces warmer rust-brown areas where the glaze is thinner, while a heavier application develops stronger green and brown tones. Texture emphasizes differences in glaze thickness and makes the transitions between shades more distinct. The surface is glossy.

Amaco Shino

Amaco Shino glazes are inspired by the humble earthiness of tea ceremony bowls. In oxidation firings, they produce a rich, high-iron surface reminiscent of reduction-fired glazes. They enhance both textured and smooth clay surfaces and are suitable for white and red clay bodies.

The Gloss and Matte versions can be blended to create intermediate levels of sheen. The glazes can also be layered with Amaco Potter's Choice glazes to produce more dynamic, complex surfaces.
