Ivory Tower is a dense, highly pigmented glaze from the Stroke & Coat series. At low-fire temperatures, it gives a light ivory color. At higher firing temperatures, it darkens slightly toward beige. The glaze works well where visible brush strokes, fine details and varied coverage are desired. One coat creates a translucent effect, while two to three coats gradually build opacity and an even, glossy surface without the need for a clear glaze.
Mayco Stroke & Coat glazes are stable, glossy and highly pigmented decorative glazes. When applied in two to three coats, they give vivid, opaque colors. They can be applied to wet clay, low-fire bisque or stoneware bisque and fired across a broad temperature range in oxidation or reduction. Use them for fine details, brush strokes, majolica-style decoration and full surface coverage. To achieve a watercolor-like effect with visible brush marks, thin the glaze with water. The final result depends on the clay body, application thickness, firing process and temperature.
