Mason Stains® 6149 Iron Silicate

Mason Color 6149 Iron Silicate ceramic stain is an iron silicate that can be used to color ceramic bodies and as an addition to glazes and, depending on the proportions, will produce various shades of brown. For strong, vivid colors, the stain content should be approx. 8-10%.  The final color will depend on the ceramic body used, glaze and firing curve. When applied with clear glaze, we recommend using zinc-free glaze, e.g. AMACO HF-9 Zinc-Free Clear or Mayco SW-4 Zinc-Free Clear.
