Laguna Clay 437 Frost porcelain clay is exceptionally white and smooth, ideal for wheel throwing and hand building, with subtle translucency after firing.

Laguna Clay 437 Frost is a mid-fire porcelain clay body designed with wheel throwing in mind. Its smooth, fine texture makes it a pleasure to work with, whether you're throwing on the pottery wheel or hand building small and medium-sized pieces. It is a great choice for cups, bowls, thin-walled vessels, ceramic jewellery and other delicate forms.

What makes Frost special is its exceptionally bright white colour after firing. Thin walls can develop a beautiful translucency, allowing light to pass through the porcelain. The clean white surface also provides an excellent canvas for glazes and ceramic decoration, while the fine texture helps achieve smooth surfaces and carefully finished details.

For a two-stage firing schedule, bisque firing can be carried out at around 1000°C, followed by a final firing of up to 1240°C. Under the manufacturer's recommended firing conditions, the porcelain has a total shrinkage of 11% and water absorption of 0.5%.
