Mayco SW-170 Blue Hydrangea glaze is fired at 1240°C and gives a violet color with blue shimmer and yellow crystals. As the firing temperature increases, it turns light blue and the crystals disappear. The glazes from the Mayco Stoneware series are designed for firing in the temperature range of 1200-1300°C, in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres. Stir them well before use and apply on bisque in layers with a brush. The final appearance of the glaze will depend on the clay body used, the number of layers and the firing curve.
