Mayco SW-129 Copper Float glaze when fired at 1240°C gives a matte surface with shimmer in shades of copper red and brown. As the reduction firing temperature increases, the glaze becomes glossy and the copper shimmer disappear. The glazes from the Mayco Stoneware series are designed for firing in the temperature range of 1200-1300°C, in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres. Stir them well before use and apply on bisque in layers with a brush. The final appearance of the glaze will depend on the clay body used, the number of layers and the firing curve.
